A speaker from another city, live in the room.
The person stays where they are. They appear at full height in your venue, and talk with the audience.
Used by Hitachi to bring its Tokyo leadership to New Delhi, by Capgemini to bring leaders from France, and by IMT Ghaziabad and NatWest Group.
- ISO 9001
- ISO 27001
- CE certified
- Made in India

Live hologram telepresence, sometimes called holoportation, films a person against a green screen, removes the background and streams them to a HoloBox911, where they appear live at full height. The sending end needs a 100 Mbps uplink. Hitachi, IMT Ghaziabad and NatWest Group have used it.

Plan the session
Speaker, venue and timing. We check the network at both ends and set out what each needs in the quote.
Set up the sending end
A green screen or controlled backdrop, a camera and a 100 Mbps uplink. A smartphone on a tripod can be the camera.
Go live
The background is removed and the speaker streams to the HoloBox, with two-way audio and about 0.4 seconds of delay.
Keep it
The session can be recorded and cut in post, so it can be reused at later events.
Done here, for brands you know.

Live telepresence
Hitachi
Hitachi's HR Convention in New Delhi needed its Tokyo leadership in the room, not on a screen. Flying an executive in for a single address meant losing a week to travel for twenty minutes on stage.

Have a speaker who can't travel?
Tell us where they are and where the audience is. We check both ends and reply within one working day.

How it works
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| 1. Capture | The speaker stands in front of a green screen or controlled backdrop. A smartphone on a tripod can be the camera |
| 2. Remove the background | Only the person travels, not the room |
| 3. Stream | The figure is sent to the venue at up to 2K |
| 4. Appear | They stand in the display at their own height, and the audience sees them without glasses |
Where it has run
| Client | What happened | Read more |
|---|---|---|
| Hitachi, HR Convention | An executive in a Tokyo studio addressed the New Delhi stage live. Zero flights | Case study |
| IMT Ghaziabad | Two guest speakers appeared live in a PGDM classroom, with two-way interaction | Case study |
| NatWest Group, X Stock Elevate 2026 | A remote banker appeared live and talked with visitors in Bengaluru and Gurugram. Virtusa was partner | Case study |
It works both ways
This isn't a film. At IMT Ghaziabad, students could see, hear and question the speakers in real time. At NatWest Group's event, visitors chose to connect to a banker, who worked remotely and talked with them through the display.
What it needs
- At the sending end: a green screen or controlled backdrop, a camera and a 100 Mbps uplink.
- At the venue: the HoloBox, an earthed socket, a level floor and a network link. See what a venue needs.
- People: HoloBox911 can run the capture and the live show. An operator is available at extra cost.
Keep it after the day
A live session can also be recorded. Hitachi's address was captured and cut in post, so it can be reused at later events. For more on keynotes, read hologram telepresence for keynotes.

What internet speed does live telepresence need?
A 100 Mbps uplink at the sending end, where the speaker is. The venue needs a network link to the HoloBox as well. We provide two lines, a primary and a backup, so the session continues if one drops, and the delay is about 0.4 seconds, short enough for a natural conversation.
Does the speaker need a professional studio?
Not necessarily. A green screen or a controlled backdrop, a camera and a 100 Mbps uplink will do, and a smartphone on a tripod can be the camera. Hitachi's executive used a Tokyo studio for a keynote; a controlled backdrop in an office can also work. We advise on the set-up and test it before the day.
Can the audience talk to the speaker?
Yes, it works both ways. At IMT Ghaziabad, students saw, heard and questioned guest speakers in real time. At NatWest Group's X Stock Elevate 2026, visitors chose to connect to a remote banker who talked with them through the display, in Bengaluru and Gurugram on the same day.
Is live telepresence the same as holoportation?
Yes, holoportation is another name for it. The speaker is filmed live, the background is removed and the person is streamed into the HoloBox911, where they appear at full height. Unlike a video call on a screen, the speaker stands in the room at life size, glasses-free.
How far away can the speaker be?
Anywhere with a 100 Mbps uplink. Hitachi's speaker was in Tokyo and the audience in New Delhi; Capgemini brings leaders in from France to its Mumbai and Hyderabad Experience Centres. Distance changes nothing as long as both ends have a steady connection, which we test before the session.
Can a live session be recorded and reused?
Yes. Hitachi's 20-minute address from Tokyo was captured and cut in post, so it can be shown again at later events. You can run a live keynote once and then loop the recording on a stand for the rest of a show, which needs no operator.
What does the venue need?
The HoloBox, an earthed socket, a level floor and a network link. The 7-foot unit is 213 cm tall, weighs 220 kg and draws 700 W at full load. It must be indoors, air-conditioned and away from direct sunlight. Our venue guide covers the rest.
Do we need someone to run it on the day?
We recommend it for live sessions. HoloBox911 can run the capture at the sending end and the live show at the venue; an operator is available at extra cost and agreed in your quote. For recorded content that loops, no operator is needed.
Can we rent a HoloBox just for one live keynote?
Yes. The HoloBox is rented by the day for the unit, and transport, the capture team, content and GST are itemised in the quote; see our pricing page for day rates. For an experience centre with regular sessions, like Capgemini's, buying or leasing usually works out better.
