Planning a hologram display for a UK venue.

A life-size hologram display fits most UK exhibition halls, but plan five things early: the stand height limit, the power order, the access route and any goods lift, the floor under the unit, and where daylight falls.

A HoloBox911 on an exhibition stand
The short answer

A life-size hologram display fits most UK exhibition halls, but plan five things early: the stand height limit, the power order, the access route and any goods lift, the floor under the unit, and where daylight falls. A 7-foot HoloBox911 is 213 cm high, weighs 220 kg (300 kg in its flight case) and needs one earthed single-phase socket. Where a height limit or a ceiling is tight, the 6-foot model stands about 183 cm on its podium. Your show's exhibitor manual sets the stand rules, so check it as soon as you book.

The checklist

CheckWhat the 7-foot HoloBox911 needsWhere to find the answer
Stand height213 cm clear height, more if it sits on a podium or platform. The 6-foot is a 167.64 cm unit on a 6-inch podiumThe organiser's exhibitor manual and your stand plan

Each check, in practice

Stand height. The hall's ceiling is rarely the limit. The organiser sets the maximum stand height in the exhibitor manual, and shell-scheme stands, mezzanines and hanging structures can lower it. Measure from the floor of your stand, including any platform, to the lowest thing above the unit.

Power. Order a socket for the unit with your other stand electrics, before the manual's deadline. Ask when stand power is switched on in the morning, so the unit can start and be checked before doors open, and whether it stays on overnight.

Access route. Walk the route on paper, from the vehicle to your stand: doors, corridors, turns and any lift. The unit travels in a reusable aluminium flight case with an integrated ramp. On level ground one person can roll it; anything involving a lift or stairs needs the 8-person crew.

Floor. The floor loadings that ExCeL and the NEC publish are far above what a 220 kg unit needs. The question is usually the stand itself: if the unit stands on a raised floor or podium, your stand builder should confirm it can take the weight.

Light. The display is made for normally lit halls, not dark rooms. Direct sunlight on the panel washes it out, so ask where roof lights or glazing fall on your stand, and face the panel away from them.

The four venues: what their own pages say

These facts come from each venue's public pages, read on 8 November 2026. Figures can change, and the hall your show uses decides which apply.

ExCeL London. ExCeL describes its event halls as having 10-metre-high ceilings, a floor loading of 18 kN per square metre, 7.2-metre-wide drive-in doorways, and services such as electric and IT run through under-floor ducts. For a HoloBox911 on the ground-floor halls, height and floor are unlikely to be the problem; the stand height limit and the power order are the items to settle.

Olympia London. Olympia says any vehicle servicing an event must pre-book access through Voyage Control. Bookings normally open about 30 days before the event, with one booking per vehicle per day, and the maximum vehicle height is 4.4 metres. Olympia also lists a West Hall Level 1 among its spaces. If your show is on an upper level, ask for the goods lift size and rating, and remember the 300 kg rule for the cased unit.

The NEC, Birmingham. The NEC's hall technical sheets give a clear ceiling height of 10 metres for most halls (15.5 metres in Halls 1 and 5), a floor loading of 20 tonnes per square metre, excluding floor ducts, and vehicle entry doors typically 7.5 metres wide by 4.7 metres high. Stand height and the power order are the items to settle with the organiser.

Manchester Central. Manchester Central lists Central Hall as a column-free space 26.38 metres high, and Exchange Hall at 7.8 metres high. Its room pages don't give lift or floor loading details, so ask the venue or organiser which level your room is on and, if it's not at ground level, the goods lift size and rating.

Real examples from shows we've run

Our deployments so far have been at Indian venues. The same planning applies in the UK.

  • Fluidra, SFI Expo 2026, Hall 14, Bharat Mandapam: one HoloBox911 showed an Olympic pool, a diving pool and a plant room in 3D, turned landscape for the first time.
  • Monotech Engineers, IMTOS 2025: the CEO's welcome ran on a loop for all four days with no operator, so the unit needed power and a safe spot, not a live link.
  • Shahi Exports, Bharat Tex 2026: one hired unit ran the collection's life-size model walks unattended for four days.
  • People Matters TechHR India '26, Yashobhoomi: AI avatars, a live beam-in and a multi-avatar concierge ran on one HoloBox911. A live beam-in is the case where the network check matters most.

A simple timeline

  • When you book the stand: check the exhibitor manual's height limit, and choose the 7-foot or 6-foot.
  • Two to four weeks or more before the show: agree content. Content made for you usually takes 2 to 4 weeks.
  • Before the manual's deadlines: order the socket and any wired network connection, and book delivery slots where the venue uses a booking system.
  • Build-up day: the unit is delivered, set up and checked before doors open.

FAQs

Questions, answered.

Will a 7-foot hologram display fit under a stand height limit?

It is 213 cm high. Check the limit in your show's exhibitor manual and allow for any platform. Where the limit is tight, the 6-foot model stands about 183 cm on its podium.

What power does a HoloBox911 need at a UK venue?

One earthed single-phase socket, AC 100 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz. The 7-foot uses 550 W on standby and 700 W at full load. Order it with your stand electrics.

Can it go up in a goods lift?

Yes, if the lift is rated 300 kg or more and the route's openings are at least 8'6" by 4'5". Moving it by lift or stairs takes an 8-person crew with the flight case.

Does it need a dark stand?

No. It's made for normally lit halls. Keep it away from direct sunlight and glass roofs.

Does it need the internet?

Only for some uses. A recorded loop plays locally, and the AI can run on-premise and offline or from UK servers. Live telepresence needs a 100 Mbps uplink at the sending end.

Can you help plan our stand?

Yes. Send the venue, hall and dates through UK contact, or call +44 7343 066743, and see both models at our Wokingham experience centre.
